The Wild<\/em> is a series of pop-up bookstores and art experiences inspired by the tradition and history of black fugitives, maroons, refugees and exiles. The Wild is a meeting ground for Black togetherness that seeks to cultivate an intimate and liberated space for Black people through the curation of books and events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this two-part edition of zine-making in the wild, we will tend to diaspora and migrations and explore ways to answer the question \u201cwhere are you from\u201d in ways outside colonial logics of borders and nation-states. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the spaces that made you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each participant will create their own zine. Zines will then be compiled into one big zine that everyone will get to take home. You\u2019re encouraged to bring personal effects from home (i.e. magazines, images, photos, etc.) however materials will be provided. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wild <\/em>zine workshop is an intentional space for Black and POC folks to come together, conjure up and materialize our dreamscapes and wild imaginations. Preference will be given to queer and femme Black and POC individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Programme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1 \u2013 Sunday 26 June, 12h-16h: Creation and production of collages <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2 \u2013 Saturday 2 July, 12h-16h: Riso printing and folding<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bio Marly Pierre-Louis
Marly Pierre-Louis is a writer, poet and maker originally from Brooklyn currently based in Amsterdam. Her work explores Black feminist strategies of survival and liberation. She\u2019s a first generation Haitian-American, a big sister, a mother, and a Taurus through and through.<\/p>\n\n\n
