W139 is a special exhibition venue where we collaborate with artists on new presentations and public programmes. You are therefore close to the ‘fire’, which makes the internship interesting/engaging and insightful and allows you to learn about different practices and get to know many people.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a student or graduate who wants to gain work experience within or after their eduction for at least 3 months, for 4 days a week, for which we can offer an internship allowance. We prefer someone from media/communications/arts education or similar, but students from other educational fields are also welcome to apply if the profile fits. Furthermore, it is important that you are familiar with communication management (Instagram, Facebook and WordPress), you are textually strong in both Dutch and English, and enjoy working with visual tools. We speak both English and Dutch within our diverse team, with the artists and collaboration partners. Knowledge of the Adobe software package is an advantage. We are looking for someone who is a team player but can also work independently, and is accurate.

Within your internship period, you will collaborate on the communication aspects of exhibitions and events. There are often several campaigns running at the same time, so no two days are the same. We work in a small team in which you will cooperate and think on an equal footing. Your tasks are diverse: from writing texts to creating content for our social media channels and maintaining contact with external partners. Furthermore, you will partly perform light administrative tasks such as hospitality and mediation, and general contact by phone or e-mail.

Prior to your internship, we can agree on a personal plan for the internship period, taking into account personal interests and conditions set by your study programme. Your working hours will largely be determined by mutual agreement according to your availability and our programme. You may sometimes have to work evenings or weekends.

W139 values diversity within its organisation. People with different backgrounds in study, origin or culture are expressly invited to apply.
